  • O Sacred Rose Crowned With Thorns!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”   John 3:16

Even though I posted a new entry last night, I wanted to share a poem I composed for all you Xangans who visit my blog. I hope you enjoy it, and have a very blessed and happy St. Valentine’s Day!

    The First Valentine

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

put aside my riches, kingdom, and lie

    among sheep and cattle, and in rags dress;

over pleasure, comfort, I’d choose distress,

that you might see my love.

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

allow from my humble tongue loose to fly

words of eloquence and beauty unknown,

my words given you for your very own,

that you might hear my love.

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

wander the deserts and climb mountains high

to find you, reach you and heal all your ills,

soothe your pains, kiss ‘bye your hurts; O God will

that you might feel my love!

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

spread before you a banquet unmatched, my

very self bread for your body, my blood

the finest wine, that your heart might have food,

that you might taste my love.

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

face ridicule, torture, march off to die

broken, naked for all the world to see,

that forever we might together be,

that you might know my love.

For you, my dearest love, for you would I

go to Hell and back, rise up to the sky

and build you a home amidst Heaven’s clouds,

and ere you mourned me long, cast off Death’s shroud,

that you might live my love.

  • Not only the first Valentine, but the last as well, alpha and omega.

  • You know, really, why *should* you wait? You’ve got notes on Dwarves; why don’t you draft some characters or a story while you’re at it? Just because you don’t have your other notes with you doesn’t mean you have to halt everything, does it?

  • Yes, it’s book 8, Revelation, Karen Traviss last one in the series. Troy Denning will have the last novel in the series, a hardcover called Invincible released in May.
I’ve liked Traviss work, but she needs to wrap up  her Mandalorian story lines. I mean, I like the Fett story arc, but unless it is building to something, it could almost sit out of this series of books as an e-book to include later. I really want a copy of the Boba Fett arc that takes place in New Jedi Order, though.
But the tension really escalates in Fury and I’m just hoping they have a killer finish lined up for this series, or it will be a let down worse than the Dark Nest trilogy was after New Jedi Order. Now that was a great storyline.
Hope you’re having a great week!

  • RYC@ crows. And that’s just like a scene right out of Hitchcocks film The Birds, too. I saw the film once and every time a bird slams into my window (a rare occassion) it gives me the shivers. It is eerie to see a lot of birds gathered together in the same spot, especially a single tree. I mean, even in a city, there are roofs and buildings to rest on. But a single tree. Whoa.
