  • Creepy…

Would you trust an organization that identified as one of its primary goals:

-TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP...IN ACHIEVING, THROUGH INFORMED INDIVIDUAL CHOICE, A U.S. POPULATION
OF STABLE SIZE IN AN OPTIMUM ENVIRONMENT; - IN STIMULATING AND
SPONSORING RELEVANT BIOMEDICAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC, AND DEMOGRAPHIC
    RESEARCH...

Doesn't that just sound creepy and Orwellian? Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it...in fact it reminds me of propaganda coming out of Germany not so long ago, like:
"Every propaganda means, specially the press, radio and movies, as well as pamphlets, booklets and lectures, must be used to instill in the Russian population the idea that it is
harmful to have several children. We must emphasize the expenses that children cause, the good things that people could have had with the money spent on them. We could also hint
at the dangerous effect of child-bearing on a woman's health." (April 27th, 1942)

    Anyone else creeped out?

  • Guess I’m a goner then……. :P

  • Why can’t governments butt out where they don’t belong?

  • @TheStormintheCalm -

That’s the scary thing; it’s not the government! It’s Planned Parenthood! The creepy quote was from their last tax filing in 2008 under the section where they outline their organization’s mission. Their tax filing, since they are a public, not-for-profit (supposedly) is a matter of public record so it is made available online: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/files/PPFA/PPFA_FY09_Form_990_Copy_for_Public_Inspection.PDF Just hit control+F and type in “population” and you’ll be taken right to it. Creepy!

Here’s a good article that breaks some other things down, too: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-03-04/planned-parenthoods-birth-control-myth/full/

  • Yes, it is scary…and sad. If for no other reason than to be a rebel, I think I may strive to have 10 children. :)

  • @Ancient_Scribe -

I found the first quote, but not the second one.

  • @TheStormintheCalm -

The second one I found from another source as a historical comparison.

  • @Ancient_Scribe -

    Oh, I see. Still creepy.

Every time people talk about population control, I imagine Bob Barker saying, “Have your children spayed or neutered.”

Kinda funny, in a sick sorta way.

  • Wow…that came from Planned Parenthood?!?  Yikes!

I mean, I believe that the individual has the responsibility to not put themselves in a situation where they might have any or too many unwanted children, but forced government population control is very terrifying.

  • @ExposedWrists -

Yep, from Planned Parenthood! Maybe it is best that the government stop funding them!

  • That is the Democrat Party position. My sister tells me that stuff all the time: babies are unnecessary expenses, etc.

  • I can’t say I’m surprised that this is one of Planned Parenthood’s primary goals; however, I am a bit surprised that they actually admitted it!

  • @azn_gohan -

    my feelings exactly…

  • The Russian thing calls to mind the thought that they already trod this road. They left us in the dust with the military buildup & the space race in the 1950’s. And all the while, they were rotting from within. And overnight, it seemed, the mighty U.S.S.R. collapsed like it was made of loose sticks. And the world was shown the decreased lifespan, the alcoholism rate, the divorce rate, the pervasive Russian mafia, et.al.

And a skeptic might shrug their shoulders and say dismissively, “Yeah, so what? And your point would be…”

Because we’ve been carefully taught that invoking anything like a comparison with Russia smacks of McCarthyism and Cold War hysteria, and besides, they were communist, and we’re capitalist.

  • Sorry to butt in…but I’m really getting sick of the Democrats getting blamed.  Both sides of the parties have their faults.  What matters is how we act.

    Matthew 7:1-5 Judging Others

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (this was not meant towards you)

I guess I’ve been lucky to have talked to people of the Communist party, Muslims from all over the world (whose views are strangely very close to Catholics), Socialists, and the list goes on.  We all have our faults.  I will admit that I disagree with Planned Parenthood subjecting that philosophical stand point because they should be a resource, not pushing their opinions onto others, however, I have seen success with having a limited amount of kids.  Like the last person said ”we’re captailists”.  Our social programs are bankrupt right now.  We do not have the resources to support children living in poverty. We don’t have the resources to support anyone living in poverty.

  • @hesacontradiction - Blame isn’t being placed here. Nevertheless it is of paramount importance for citizens to understand the positions of the political parties.

The Democrats support abortion which Christians understand to be murder of unborn children. And Democrats support socialism which sees the each human being as an expense.

The Republican Party platform is pro-life.

Stating the facts about where our politicians stand is not blaming anyone. And since Christians believe the Commandment, “Thou shalt not murder,” and that abortion is murder, we are correct in concluding that the Democrat Party advocates the murder of unborn children.

Such a conclusion is stark, but totally reasonable since it results from the stated position of the Democrat Party itself and its socialist philosophy.

  • @LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - I can see where you are coming from.  I know more Church going Republicans who receive abortions than I do Democrats. I guess that shows the two different worlds we come from.

  • What organization is this?

Nevermind that, I saw in the comments… yeah, all the more reason to defund them.
