  • A Beautiful Testimony

Danielle Rose is a young Catholic singer/songwriter. A few years ago she entered a convent to discern if it was the life Christ was calling her to. Though her prayer and His call led her away from the convent in the end, the following video of her testimony regarding the Eucharist (recorded at her final concert before entrance) is no less beautiful and powerful. You can really see the joy of a bride-to-be, someone absolutely, totally and helplessly in love with Jesus Christ.

What do you think? What are your thoughts on the Eucharist? How has her testimony touched you?

  • I went on to watch her song. It was lovely. I teared up a bit. :)

I always am in a position where there is so much (because of my upbringing) that I disagree with regarding Catholicism. But, I respect it for what it is, and I love seeing young women like this.

  • @Winsa -

Well if you ever want to ask questions about those things you disagree with, feel free to ask away. I’m glad you went on to listen to her song!

  • Unfortunately, my disagreements with such things will probably always remain as so. As a pastors daughter, I’ve done lots of research and study for myself and have simply come to my own conclusions. I can SPEAK of such things with others, but don’t really wish to fight or cause a war/rift with people that I hold dearly. So, often I let them lie and be.

I believe that Jesus being our savior and our center is most important anyways. :)

  • She said a line, or lines, saying how she gets terrified at first to receive so much of Him, which reminded me a lot of St. Faustina. St. Faustina also had this kind of fear of God where the only thing she dislikes the most (as I recall) is to disappoint God, and because of this, God always showers her with Blessings for having her always praising him.
I think every Catholic has this conscience. God talking to them, calling upon us, but it is up to us to answer that call. This also reminds me when I altar serve, I could not look straight at the Eucharist sometimes because I felt such a sinner serving Him, and yet He allows me to serve Him. I praise God for he is such a loving God. And Danielle was truly in the midst of God’s love that her heart and soul was filled with so much Love she had to share it. Lol. Anyways, great testimony, brought a smile to my face today.

  • apparently she (danielle rose) has visited my school, but i never saw her. i did in fact spend ten minutes watching the video. awesome suffice to say, i can not live without the Eucharist. i know this to be true, and i love it. to say anything else would probably ruin the absolute mystery of faith…

  • Catholics have the VERY BEST product on Earth – Jesus fully alive in the Eucharist !
In fact, there is NOTHING LIKE IT ON EARTH ! the mind reels into fractals of joy and awe
contemplating the Eucharist…and to think it happens because of the intention of a priest
whom the hands of a bishop have ordained in Apostolic succession. If the priest countermands the words of Consecration by an act of his will that says: “I am not willing to consecrate the host and change it into the Body of Christ” – then the transubstantiation does not occur. The priesthood is that of Melchizadek, so humane and rational, the very priesthood of Jesus. JESUS IS THE GREATEST HUMANIST OF ALL TIME!!!!! raising up debased humanity to the very life of God.
that is why the sex abuse scandal in the Church and cover up is so damaging to the life of the People of God. What did Jesus say; “Better they were never born – a millstone will be tied around their necks and they will be cast into the deepest pit of hell.”

  • I’ve hit information overload on the computer/Xanga, so I’m going to listen to her testimony tomorrow when I have a fresh mind. Meanwhile, I can tell you that it’s the Eucharist that I love most in our Church. It’s what led me to actually wanting to become Catholic. As a Protestant, I used communion as my weekly get-right-with-God moment. It was a huge deal to me then. It became more huge, central to my entire being, when I came to understand Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist. I don’t care how exciting or boring a Mass is, it’s my life’s blood, my power for living. Sadly, I want my mom to understand this one aspect of Catholic theology, but she is not open. She’s the most amazing Christian, but this is an area of contention. I have high hopes that she’ll hear it from someone else because her church has begun studying the Church Fathers!!! And she has some very informed Catholic couples in her neighborhood Bible study. They already have my dad studying Marian theology

  • @Winsa - That’s great that you research these things! Has your research taken you to the Church Fathers? Some theological backgrounds ignore sources that are pre-Reformation, and they don’t always notice that they are doing so. Blessings to you!

  • @Winsa - Oops, sorry, I meant to give you a list of who they are: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Church_Fathers

  • @BigToePeople - I have in fact been lead everywhere, including to history, and such people. :) Unfortunately, as I’ve been taught many times by many great men. We do not compare ourselves to men and what history has shown us, but to the bible, and to Jesus Christ. :)

  • @Winsa - I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that the list of men was for you to emulate them. It was for Scripture interpretation and study. Since I don’t know you or your background, and because I’m learning that entire faith traditions are ignoring the Church Fathers, I just threw it out there in case. But it’s for the theology.

That said, there’s a small fault in your comment. Yes, Christ is central. It’s all about Him. And it’s Christ we are to emulate. But, Paul says in the New Testament to use him as an example of one following Christ. And that sets a precedent…it is important that we are mentored by those more spititually mature than ourselves. And it is important to see what it looks like when a person is doing a good job of emulating Jesus. That’s why we have saints…just to show us what it looks like when a normal person puts Christ first. Haha, I’m sure you already know all this stuff. It’s just that Jesus and Scripture and Christ’s Church are all favorite topics of mine. God bless you!

  • @BigToePeople - I agree to some extent, but, I don’t come to the same conclusions about things that Catholics do in many areas. :)

  • She was recently at our Church. I’m sad I had to miss it…
