  • Another poem, sans rant

Before I post my latest poem, let me just tell all of you to go see “V For Vendetta.” It is quite incredible, and I hope it will make all of you think about the role of government. That and it is just awesome.

But to look into your eyes,

to run the eternal distance from

your angelic face back into the

    darkness in your glittering orbs

until I collapse in a breathless heap

    on Heaven’s doorstep.

I pray to be worthy to enter

    there into the red forest,

    the one true frontier remaining,

the place no eye has seen.

    But I, the humble pilgrim,

will seek it out, following the

    crimson flow to its source,

hoping to rest there ever more,

lulled to soulful sleep by the

    beat of your life’s drum

    ’til my heart and

yours are played by the same hand…

oh, to look into your eyes…

would you see back into mine?

    Would you knowmy thoughts and

see the man trapped in a cruel fate of

seeing and believing, but not having?

The guard puts my water just beyond my

reach, the cold iron bars holding back my

    tired body.

I thirst for your eyes, ache, long, lament for

    your eyes.

Blink once and see my life burst

in a solar flare of fury at the

    brief moment’s concealment of your

    glistening gems.

Blink twice and see me die a thousand

deaths, robbed too long of my

    breath, suffocating in the moments

between the flutter of your lash,

light whips that beat heavily upon

my heart, though I mind not the pain

my tormentor, my love, my sustenance…

but to look into your eyes.

  • Dang straight! I thoroughly loved the movie V for Vendetta when I saw it with a good group of friends last Saturday. After that, another group of friends wanted to go to the local watering hole for a few rounds and some dancing, because Tina’s roommate from Spain came to visit, and I bumped into a fellow classmate of ours, Alexis Lorenzon. She was asking if I knew anymore about you and how the interviews with the Jesuits went, and I had no clue since we haven’t chatted since then, but it was still nice to talk with her as I celebrated with some of my friends from Wartburg. It was a great evening all around.

The imagery in your poems, as always, is pretty amazing. So many lines make me stop, wishing somehow I had written them. My mom and aunt are coming up to W’burg tomorrow, because of the Who’s Who nomination thing, so I should clean up my room, and get some other stuff done… I’ll talk at you later, good buddy.

  • That was a very moving poem.  I liked it.  :)

  • Two questions: Do you remember our fifth grade math teacher’s name? I know it wasn’t Becker, and I know Ms. Tremmel was sixth grade social studies, but the name of our fifth grade teacher is escaping me. I remember she belw up at Steve Gritton once. she left shortly after we were through her class.

Question 2: What are your plans next weekend? A.J. told me that Tipton Concert Choir and Wartburg Choir are holding a choir concert on Sunday here at Wartburg which should be a good time, especially since A.J. says wartburg Choir wants to show Tipton up to knock them down a few pegs off their holier than thou mentality. otherwise, I’ve got nothing going on next weekend and am looking to make some plans to do something. let me know what you think. I’ll talk at you later. Have a great weekend!

  • fifth grade math teacher = mrs. burnett. she may have been married in between the time you guys had her and the time i did, but i don’t remember her maiden name. she was too blonde, too tan, and contributed to the fact that now i cannot do math to save my life.

i have been left with the distinct impression that ‘v for vendetta’ is a glimpse of what our current government could become if we aren’t careful.

  • yah they’re doing the wartburg concert april 2nd i do believe becasue we’re stopping by to watch and pick up a few of them so we can go to allstate speech.
speaking of concert choir– i got in for next year!!
    horay for me!!
(i’m really excited, it was really important to me and nobody seems to care)
    ohh well

    peace

  • Maiden name was Columbus. Not that anyone cares.
