  • And you give yourself away…. (name that song!)

So I’ve slowly begun giving away my things. I’ve given away several CDs
and a couple of movies so far, and much more will go over the summer.
It has been fun to think of things that certain people would like. I
try and think of people that certain things would have more meaning
for. For example, I wouldn’t give my friend Kate my two-handed
broadsword. So yeah, everything from my last CD to my last kiss must
go. I’ll keep things that I need, like
clothes, coats, shoes, some books, etc. But I’ll give away everything I
can live without as best I can. I understand there are just some things
that people may not want, which is find. It is considerably and
    wonderfully freeing, however,
to relieve myself of all these THINGS that I have collected throughout
my life. When you really examine all that you have and think about what
you can do without, you’ll find what is really valuable to you. This
whole experience has been quite a blessing for me actually. I challenge
you to try it, just pretend. Imagine that you were asked to give away
everything you could live without. In the end, what are you left with?
What are the things that you are unable to part with?

  • wait, what are you required to give up as a… what is your title? Should I call you father? Padre?

  • The song is “With or Without You,” by U2.  Or if it isn’t, it should be, because that song rocks.

Too tired/preoccupied with schoolwork to contemplate deep questions right now…

  • Yep she’s right, With or Without You

  • Ahh.. U2.  They’re fabulous.  Are you moving?

  • I think the hardest thing for me to part with would be my books. Yes, I have a lot of movies, but to me, I could easily give those away. Giving away books is a lot harder… My other items, like Spider-man collections, easily, I part with them. The next hardest thing would be the items with more sentimental value behind them, like the gifts Tina gave me from Spain, the graduation gifts from my family, and my boxes of memories at my home. It is a difficult experience, and I’m glad you find it rewarding and freeing to experience. Myself, I’m unsure I’d find that to be true.

I hope your week goes well. Mine’s going a little slowly, but I’ll survive. When do classes end for you up at UNI? Does Billy still plan on hanging out with you during your finals week, or did I miss that already? Well, take care good buddy!

  • Well, I knew you were accepted into the group, but I wasn’t sure if you were going to live in a monastary of some sort or what.   Good luck with everything!!

  • Tag! You’ve been memed! Do it before you give away all your music!

  • since i’m probably moving to texas to live in the world’s smallest apartment when i graduate, i’m starting to get rid of my things, too. i’m going to have a garage sale over the summer. but i haven’t even CONSIDERED getting rid of my books, because i know it will be impossible.

  • What can I not live without?  Food, water, shelter, and human interaction.  Everything else I have is just extra.   I don’t WANT to get rid of it, although I could if I wanted or needed to, I suppose.

  • Now that you’re going, do you suppose you’d start memorizing people again?

  • 3195415621…have fun this summer!

  • So, yeah. Tomorrow, I’ll be down at the UNI-Dome for the Kenny Chesney concert, but I’m guessing you’ll be on your way home by then. I’m out of classes by noon, though. I’ll hopefully catch you over summer, when I return home. Graduation is May 28, and I’m unsure how I’m celebrating afterwards, but I’ll let you know. Man, this term is flying by pretty quickly. i’ll catch up with you soon. Keep me informed on the role-playing party. A.J. would like to be informed on that fact as well, since he has free time until June 30th, so we don’t have to war with his schedule this year as much. Okay. have a great day, good luck on your last finals, and talk at you soon!

  • I just thought I’d let you know…if you hadn’t heard already…but Solon’s Concert Choir finally beat Tipton at State Large Group! Anyway, I hope your ‘summer’ is going well, kinda crappy weather, then again, summer doesn’t really start for a while yet. Oh well, ttyl.
